When I was young I wanted to grow up fast Now I'm thinking all the time about the past I envied my father for not going to school I thought that sitting behind a desk was cool ..

I thought that; all my teachers were mean Especially when I was a teen In my family's house, I fought hard for a room of my own My siblings weren't allowed to get to my zone ..

My parents always wanted me, to come home on time But I thought that depriving me of my liberty was a crime All I wanted is to be with my friends And I wished our meeting never ends ..

I thought that the way I used to dress was cool It didn't obey to the classical rule I was dreaming about traveling the world speaking all the languages I've never heard ..

Now I have grown up and I am a man All I want is to stay a kid; I wish I can I have raised a family of my own And built a big house stone by stone ..

I have become a teacher in a great school And I love all the kids and I think they are cool I like how they talk and how they dress I was wrong about my teachers I guess ..

Now I wish I were with my siblings Under the same roof discussing and fighting Life as a grown up is difficult and stressful No matter how you think you are successful ..

I say to all kids out there, who want to grow up fast Take it one step at a time; enjoy it while it last Life as a kid is a great gift and a big blessing Take my advice; growing up is depressing ..

“It's never too late to have a happy childhood.” ― Tom Robbins
